Miso Soup

misosoupI love miso soup.  I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  One summer I did a study abroad in Japan.  We were living in a company dorm that provided us daily meals.  For every meal we had a bowl of miso soup, including breakfast.  Miso soup is a staple for traditional Japanese breakfasts.

Friday, while grocery shopping, I picked up some tofu and decided to make miso soup for lunch.  I added zucchini, mushrooms, wakame (seaweed), a boiled egg, a splash of sriracha, and some Thai basil and shiso leaves (those are two things growing well in my herb garden). Sorry no pic…

Meals for the day…

Omelette for breakfast, miso soup for lunch, dinner…I slipped up and had a slice of pizza that the girls were eating…
